With the commencement of the third round of the 2015 MTTC Summer Pennant competition, we will get an opportunity to clarify the race to the Grand Final for teams in both divisions.

Looking at Division 1, the well rested and ladder leading team of the Time Lords will seek to jump in their TARDIS and repeat history with their Round 1 good form when they come up against the Titans that are eager to relive their golden age. Leading player Xu Dong will seek clash with former team mate Hiep in what is shaping up to be the rubber of the round. Club history shows that the rubber between Geoff and Terry will surely be another classic 5-set thriller as aggressive top-spin meets deadly accurate back-spin. In addition, the doubles rubber between the two teams will go down to the wire and we are keen to see the Time Lords back in action as a potent doubles combination. So be sure to tune in to this clash as the Titans seek to rewrite history and re-emerge against the Time Lords.

There is also a Storm coming this week and the Terminators may be facing their Mission Impossible. Former team mates Fabian and Paul will clash in what is shaping up to be an explosive game with Fabian, well known for his consistent, aggressive top spin attacks, coming up against the expert, all rounder of Paul. Be sure not to miss out on the doubles rubber and the singles clash between Phil and Abdullah, where Abdullah will attempt to defeat Phil to lead his team to victory. Witness the storm brewing as Paul and Phil seek to fend off the re-wired Terminators of Fabian and Abdullah this Thursday evening.

Within Division 2, a clash to determine who will sit atop the ladder is sure to ensue between the leading Penguins and Kingfishers. The Penguins will attempt to secure victory over the well rested Kingfishers led by the undefeated George. Tim has been playing with refined accuracy and a dangerous backhand and deadly forehand smash that is sure to be on show against John and Howard. In addition, the MTTC newcomer and undefeated George will attempt to defeat the crafty and skilled Howard. Overall, we are looking forward to the doubles rubber between the two teams that is shaping up to be crucial for the match result. Please join us to witness this thrilling match as the Penguins seek to swim past the Kingfishers and secure a Grand Final appearance.

Within the final match of Round 3, the Cassowaries and Pelicans will seek to maintain their hopes of a Grand Final appearance. Justin will seek to continue his excellent form into this Round when he takes on the in-form Karem and Stephen who is finding good mid-season form. Alex will also seek to demonstrate the results of his training when he takes on Karem in an exciting singles clash. Be sure not to miss this match as the Pelicans attempt to rise above the Cassowaries.

This week, the X-Men and the Kookaburras will be resting and intently watching the performance of their fellow competitors during the mid-season Round 3.
