2018 Winter Pennant (29/05 – 21/08)
Eight teams competed against each other in a 13-week long competition. Each team consisted of 2 players and in each regular season match there was a total of five rubbers played: 4 singles and 1 doubles. Each rubber was contested as the best out of 5 sets, which were played up to at least 11 points each.
The regular season (round robin component) of the 2018 Winter pennant (29/05 – 17/07) consisted of seven rounds, where each team played against each other once. At the conclusion of the regular season, each team was separated into two pools based upon the team ladder rankings.
Pool A: Eels (1st), Panthers (3rd), Tigers (5th), and Knights (7th).
Pool B: Warriors (2nd), Storm (4th), Sharks (6th), and Titans (8th).
The group stage matches were conducted between the 24th of July and 7th of August. After all pool matches were completed, the top two ranked teams from each respective group proceeded into the Finals Series.
On the evening of August 14th, the Semi-Finals will be played:
(1) Pool A Winner (Eels) vs. Pool B Runner-Up (Storm);
(2) Pool B Winner (Warriors) vs. Pool A Runner-Up (Panthers).
The Grand Final will be conducted between the winners of each Semi-Final match on the evening of August 21st at Manningham DISC.
