2018 Autumn Pennant (15/02 – 01/05)

Eight teams competed against each other in a 12-week long competition. Each team consisted of 2 players and in each regular season match there was a total of five rubbers played: 4 singles and 1 doubles. Each rubber was contested as the best out of 5 sets, which were played up to 11 points each.

The regular season of the 2018 Autumn pennant (15/02 – 29/03) consisted of seven rounds, where each team played against each other once. At the conclusion of the regular season, each team was separated into two pools based upon team ladder rankings.

Pool A: Lions (1st), Pythons (3rd), Hawks (5th), and the Orcas (7th).

Pool B: Sharks (2nd), Wolves (4th), Pumas (6th), and the Taipans (8th).

The group stage matches were conducted between the 5th and 19th of April. After all pool matches had been completed, the top two ranked teams from each respective group proceeded into the Finals Series.

On the evening of April 26th, the Semi-Finals were played: (1) Pool A Winner vs. Pool B Runner-Up; and (2) Pool B Winner vs. Pool A Runner-Up.

Semi-Finals:
(1) Lions defeated the Sharks 3 – 1;
(2) Taipans defeated by the Orcas 2 – 3

The Grand Final was conducted between the winners of each Semi-Final match on the evening of May 1st at the Manningham DISC.
