2016 Winter Pennant (26/05 – 11/08)

6 Teams competed within a 10 Week Competition, which was concluded with a 2 week long Finals Series contested between the top 4 teams on the ladder at the end of the regular season.

Each team consisted of 2 players. Within each regular season match, there was a total of five rubbers played: 4 singles and 1 doubles. Each rubber was played best out of 5 sets, which were played up to 11 points.

The Finals Series commenced at the conclusion of the regular season, after every team had played each other twice.

Due to player availabilities the Semi-Finals were played on the evenings of both August 4th and 9th. Semi Final 1 was contested between the first placed Lions and the fourth placed Leopards from 7pm on Thursday August 4th at Donburn Primary School. The Lions narrowly defeated the Leopards in a close fought 3-2 victory. The second Semi Final was contested between the second placed Pumas and the third placed Panthers on Tuesday the 9th of August from 7:30pm at Manningham DISC. The Pumas secured a spot in the Grand Final with a strong victory over the Panthers 3-0.

The Division 2 Grand Final was held upon Thursday, August 11th between the winning teams of Semi Final 1 and Semi Final 2. The Lions defeated the Pumas 3-1 at Donburn Primary School on the evening of August 11th.
